Hello dears,

Here is (again! ) an easy exercise that everyone can do.

Je sais que l'Expression libre est la compétence la plus difficile à bien acquérir dans l'apprentissage d'une langue, même si elle est notre langue maternelle, d'ailleurs...

Certains m’avaient dit être gênés d’exprimer des idées personnelles (surtout qu’ils avaient l’impression – souvent fausse – de les exprimer maladroitement. ) Cependant, je ne vous demande pas de " raconter votre vie " si vous ne le désirez pas... Je souhaite juste vous voir vous exprimer sur tout sujet aussi " librement " que possible.
De plus, je pense que vous aurez maintenant compris que pour moi, toute expression, même maladroite, est intéressante et a de la valeur. Elle nous stimule tous à " trouver mieux " !

Voici les questions auxquelles vous pouvez répondre.

1. For a pet, would you prefer a dog , or a cat? Why?

2. Write a short protest about something that shocks you.

3. Is ‘writing’ a form of catharsis for you?

4. Is family a refuge or a trap?

Vous pouvez choisir 1 ou 2 questions au choix – en notant bien les références - et développer celle(s) que vous voulez, jusqu’à atteindre en tout un maximum d’environ 15 0 mots.

Envoyez-moi vos réponses en mp et je publierai une première série que vous 'corrigerez' (en bleu d’abord pendant deux jours) puis en vert… et je publierai ensuite la deuxième série... (sans changements donc ! ) Vous gagnez de la liberté (celle de ne pas parler de plusieurs sujets, ceux qui ne vous " inspirent pas "... Vous écrivez la longueur que vous voulez, vous pouvez choisir d'inventer, de plaisanter, ou de répondre avec sérieux... Nous vous suivrons !

Cet exercice sera pour vous un ou en fonction de la qualité de vos écrits et des difficultés (surmontées) dans la prestation...

Cet exercice sera corrigé (j'espère !) le samedi 26 octobre 2024 ! Go for it! with THE FORCE.

Some families tear each other apart over the smallest of things, it can be a misunderstanding, an unfortunate word or a piece of land...In my family, everyone loves each other. We stick together through thick and thin, and help each other out when the need arises.


It has to be said that our parents brought us up in this way; they never making differences between the children, never showing preference for one or the other. If we fought amongst ourselves, we were all punished. As far as our parents were concerned, from the moment we started arguing, we were all at fault.

We stick together through thick and thin, and help each other out when the need arises.

It has to be said that our parents brought us up in this way. They never made differences between their children (never differentiated between their children is perhaps better), never showed preference for one or the other (or without "they" :... in this way, never making differences (differentiating) between their children, never showing preference...) . If we fought amongst ourselves, we were all punished. As far as our parents were concerned, from the moment we started arguing, we were all at fault.

* I think "Some families tear each other apart" has a different meaning ("The Joneses and the Smiths tear each other apart").

As soon as we were calm again, we had the right to explain ourselves and everyone received a lesson in morality and good behaviour.
When our parents died, all the property was divided equally in will, and we arranged amongst ourselves for the majority of the property to remain in the family. Of course, we often have discussions, we don't always agree on how to manage things, however we always work together to find a win-win solution.
Because we love and respect each other, our family is a very comfortable refuge.
