Bonjour,
je passe mes oraux du Bac la semaine prochaine et j'aurais aimé avoir de l'aide pour corriger mon travailsvp s'il vous plait.

First of all, it would be usefull to define the concept of progress. We generally admit 5 different progresses : scientific, technologic, medical, politic and economic. The progress is something interpretive, each person may have a different idea of progress. In addition it can change over time : something thought like a progress in a century may be criticized in another one.
Therefore, the question I ask myself is “Is progress leading towards the better?”. To answer to it, I'll first deal with internet stakes and in a second time with the progress of medicine.
It goes without saying that internet may be considered as the biggest progress over this past century. It has totally revolutionized communication, economy, data sharings and so and so. Thanks to internet we can communicate and create links with people who live everywhere in the world. Moreover, thanks to the social network born after internet we may keep contact with relatives who live at the opposite on the world and discover the foreign culture they are meeting. Politically speaking, we can underline the fact that without internet the Arabic revolutions would have been aborted at their very beginning. Internet allowed them to organize and coordinate their actions but not only, it has broadcasted their comitments for democracy in all around the world.
Freedom could be the right term to define what kind of progress internet has brought. Freedom in listening musics or watching movies. Freedom in the access to the media and the access of cultural programs. Freedom in buying directly products increasing accordingly the numbers of new products we can acquire and this liberty has created numerous employments .
However, as all new device of progress, internet also has its dark side. The first one is the social networks superficiality. Internet doesn't always reflect real life. The relationship created when surfing may generate frustating situation because of the lack of genuiness. Thousands of relatives are ready to be your virtual friend but none of them are ready to help you.
Moreover, we mentioned a few minutes ago the fact that internet symbolized freedom. But can we really believe that Google, Bing or Yahoo are devoted to humanity ? Their unique purpose consists in gathering data in their huge datarooms in order to sell them to commercial companies or to exploit them for their own goals.
In a second time, there is also the medical progress. The medicine developed over time with the first vaccination, the improving surgical technical. Today with the medicine we can give a better condition of life for a sick or injured person like, for example, the drugs against diabetes or still the prosthesis for the amputee limb. The new medicals technologies allows to save a person affect by genetic illness thanks at “saviour sibling” that consist in extract umbilical cell of healthy child to give at this sick brother or sick sister. However, this technique can put ethic problems like the fact to choose his child genetically. What more, other medical process can be a source of ethics problems for example the assisted reproductive technology, the cloning, or surrogacy. Finally this ethics' problem is a related concept of legislation and concept of the society.
Conclusion:
Consequently, a progress can have several forms, be technologic, medical...progresses improves generally the life but can be a source of problems either ethics or of utilization.

In addition it can change over time : something thought like a progress in a century may be criticized in another one.
So we will wonder if the progress lead towards the better ?. Answer to it, I'll first deal with new technologies and in a second time with the progress of medicine.
It goes without saying that internet may be considered as the biggest progress over this past century. It has totally revolutionized communication, economy, data sharings and so and so. Thanks to internet we can communicate and create links with people who live everywhere in the world. Moreover, thanks to the social network born after internet we may keep contact with relatives who live at the opposite at the world and discover the foreign culture they are meeting.
However, as all new device of progress, internet also has its dark side. The first one is the social networks superficiality. Internet doesn't always reflect the real life. Then an other example : the tablets in class as we can saw with an oral comprehension, they can certainly allow the students to have more autonomy, to have access to more information and faster and that they can contain thousands of books but they also permit the students to become addicted, that there is less communication between the teacher ans the students or still that the tablets run on electricity. So the new technologies made a huge progress but they have nevertheless negative point.
In a second time, there is also the medical progress. The medicine developed over time with the first vaccination or the improving of the surgical approach. Today with medicine we can give a better condition of life for a sick or injured person like, for example, the drugs against diabetes or still the prosthesis for the amputee limb. The new medical technologies allow to save a person affected by genetic illness thanks at “saviour sibling” that consists in extracting an umbilical cell of healthy child to give to this sick brother or sick sister. However, this technique can put ethic problems like the fact to choose his child genetically.
