Bonjour,
Je suis en Terminale S et j'ai quelques difficultés en anglais. Je profite des vacances pour faire mes fiches sur mes deux premières notions.
Je vous mets en-dessous mon plan détaillé. Pourriez-vous le regarder et me dire s'il semble cohérent? Merci infiniment.
How can myths and heroes influence people’s careers?
I. Role models
a) icon of the past
Gandhi leadership of India independence movement, is non-violent movement
b) invention of new career paths/jobs
Steve Jobs Steve Jobs is one of Apple Computer company’s creators. Many people could identify with Mr. Jobs, as he did not have an easy life and had to fight to achieve his objectives. In fact, he was adopted. He also left university and yet he became an entrepreneur. He revolutionized the computer world. Richard Brandson, who was Jobs' friend, said “So many people drew courage from Steve".
II. Mythical careers
a) from rags to riches: myth of the self-made man/the American Dream
Vince Papale He had a dream. He had a difficult life, as he was from a modest origin, he lost his job and his wife left him. But he believed in this dream. That he would manage to became an American football player. He played in the Eagles team.
b) dream jobs
Sportsman earn lot of money and travel a lot and be admired by his fan and work with a great team
Another thinks we have a dream job when you make what you would.
III. Society's values
a) Money
b) Fame & recognition
c) Influence
d) powerful
Conclusion:
a) Heroes and myth influence a people’s life
All people would become same their heroes.
b) illusion
gap between what you are and what you want to become
potential disappointment
