The swinging correspond to the 1960's. It's a euphoric decade in the history of the United Kingdom.
It was a period of optimism and a cultural revolution. There was famous music bands « Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd » who are currently still popular.
It was a interesting and difficult period because when the young decide a lot of conflit they where many protest mouvements. They manifested by the culture of hippies in the Woodstock Festival in 1969. It was a cheeky time. It was like a peace full revolution, in fiells as : music, fashion, literature, cinema, art psychedelic.,,,
With the phenomenon of the sixties, we can talk about the notion idea of progress. It's a foward movement, a developement in different type of progress like : technical, scientific, social.
In first i go to present the document page 33 « the tims are changing » then the document page 38 « still a man's world » and the last document it's a movie « Good Morning England »
The first document illustrate the progress of the society after the world war II. It becomes a consumer society with a technological revolution. There was the phenomen of baby boom.
Population keick the economy, culture with drugs, hippy anti-establishmentarianism and the sexual revolution. The availability of the contraceptive pill came to symbolize a new freedom for women.
The law of mode are changing, now the dress are short with warm colours.
The housewives becomes more independants. The document reflect a society more freedom after a difficult period (avec des codes tombés)
Gradually, womans impose their thought. Some womans makes that in a middle of man. Like Rita in,,,
The secund document, who represent the work revolution. The problem beging that before the 60's there was huge discrimination in pay between men and woman for equal jobs.
The feminist in those times decided to start a fight not only for there individual reigns but also for something called equal pay act.
In this text, the story is in 1968 in Ford car factory. A woman Rita O grady a sewing machinist decided to walk out in protest againts pay discrimination.
The woman is determined to be considered like the mans.
Then, in the sixties the idea of progress reach not only people like we can see with,,
The last document it's a movie « good morning england ». Movie relate the revolution of rock n roll to broad cast it across the country.
In 1966, the rock explodes around the world, including the United Kingdom. However, the BBC broadcasts less than 45 minutes daily of this new sound. Radio Rock, a pirate radio station, has been broadcasting from a ship sailing in international waters of the North Sea.
The British government is determined to stop them, but these don't let them happen .
When they occupy the antenna with sex, drugs and rock'n'roll, nearly one out of two English listening.
The most emblematic as Radio Caroline and Radio London helped to break the codes and to discover groups who are popular in our days despite their age.
All these documents represent the beginning of the freedom of expression.
Womans assert one self against the man in the work, in the house. Their mode of life is more easy with the technical and scientific performance.
World of Music, mode, art and so on try to express theirself. All this progress have led to break the codes and further the things.
I/Meet
I am going to talk about the meet with other.. First of all i would like to give a definition of friend ship it's a positiv bound between two or more persons and it's when you can turn to when you need to exchange confidential thnigs and you are certain not to be betraited.
To illustrate this topic i have chosen three documents « odd couple », « Of Mice and men » and « Riddle and Dazzlement »
We can see a man and a young boy on the left inside. It's a picture of « the kid » by charlie chaplin. It's a movie during the big economic depression. Their meet it was an accident but they stay together and survie. Love, friendship can be totally opposed like we can see with andy wharol.
Life is full of surprise,,,
Of Mice and Men is a story of two men George and lenny who wonder about across California looking for a job in the times of the great depression in 1920 _ 1930 in the US.
In this passage they are around a campfire and George was educated by Lenny's Aunt. Just before she died, he had promist to her he would never abandon Lenny.
This two mens look like good friends, like peas and carrtos even though there are so different.
George is a sensible person whereas as no brain . George is rather small is geant. But they stay together. All the same,,,,
The second document present a friend ship based on differents and fascination.
This a story of two young women, two students who are in the same college and who one day meet by accident. Their origin are so different : one is black and Genna comes from a weathly family wheras Minette comes from a more humble background. There is a gap with their origin but their meeting is unexpected.
Which means in fact you never know what happen. You can find differents situations, friendship can be strong in a dangerous situation.
II/Animal Farm
The book animal farm is an apologue by George Orwell. His work is marked by his profound awareness of social injustice and an intense opposition to oppression and totalitarianism.
Besides novels that have become classics, his works include essays and literary criticism.
So, i have chosen 3 extract of the book
The first texte here « the seven commandments » present when the farm animals were gather to hold their first official meeting shortly after the humans had been taken away from the farm in this extrait, the 2 main leaders are their to speak to the ground : the first leader Napoleon and snowbold the promissing young leader.
In the second text during a debate they conclued that Napolean will makes all the decisions. We have an episode who marks the end of democracy of the farm, the end of any dream and idea. A system of democratie centralism in on its away and the seven commandments are fully be trade.
The last document is all about blackmail and propaganda. The title is all about given the choice between the autorities of the pigs or the autorities of the humans.
The center of intention is here the windmill and there is some suspession that Napoleon might start a business with the ennemies out side. Historicaly is like the URSS when the times of their revolution and trying to compromised with the politicians of other nations for ex : second world war
The land of two halves is the new zealand. It's a " country of the long white cloud ", what shows the importance of the climate in particular for the agriculture of the country.
I'm going to talk about the notion of locations and exchanges.
First of all i would like to give a definition of the notion. It's a the different spaces of the world are nowadays more and more connected to each other. The exchanges can appear on many forms: people, trade, information. To illustrate the notion, i have chosen three documents who present the New Zealand.
First we have a map with any extract. We can see that New Zealand is a country in Oceania, South-western Pacific Ocean comprising two main islands (the North Island and the South Island), and smaller islands. Located about 2000 km from Australia which it is separated by the Tasman Sea, New Zealand is geographically isolated. This isolation has allowed the development of flora and fauna endemic rich and varied, ranging from giant kauri weta insects and through the kaponga and kiwi, the latter two being symbols of the country.
We have different paragraph who represent the country in different point of view.
This country is represented by the Maori and Their Culture with tattoos and famous haka that we know thanks to rugby. The animal : the kiwi, this is New Zealand's national icon and unofficial national emblem. We know the country too with the cinema “the lord of the rings” or “the hobbit” where we see beautiful landscape includes vast moutains chains, steaming volcanoes and lush rainforests.
During the history of new zealand, there was an exchange of cultur like we can see with,,,
The second documents its a picture of the mural on the wall of a public building in Waipu ? North Island. We can see the Maori on the sea a new community who arrived.
Maori have always organized their lifes with in tribus who kept fighting each other to defend their territories and became a nation to kill their ennemies on this mural reminder of the past , this people just coming. We can imagine from this scene the clash between this two communities and if we refert to the N Z history the memory people have been constenbly fishing for a proximetly 2 centuries. Be a minority in the begining of 90's century there population was almost decimated.
Over the years, the country opens to the other countries,,,
The last document is « multicultural new zealand », this text show the advantages of living in New Zealand like dream of safe community, safe environment, good education for the kids, small population, lot of ressources and agriculture.
New Zealand's society is characterizing by the multiculturalism.
They try to live together because some ethnics can't accepted live together.
This place is very strategic because they are connected to Asia and they are touch by the anglo saxon society.
To conclued, i think the exchanges are very important to a country. The impact can be postiv or negativ but with exchanges you meeting people and discover other ideas.
