Hello,
J'ai pensé à faire un petit résumé sur l'histoire de Rosa Parks.
Pouvez-vous s'il vous plaît corriger mes éventuelles erreur et pouvez-vous me dire si je peux indiquez des mots de liaison et à quel moment?
In the 1950's Blacks and Whites had separate sections on buses
Black people had to sit in the back of the bus. If white people didn't have enought seats, they could take black seats!
In 1955, a woman named Rosa Parks decided it was time to change all that.
On 1 December, 1955, Rosa Parks got on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama after a day's work. She gets on the bus, pays his place. At that time the rule was tragically simple.
She sat in a seat for black people. and a white man wanted Rosa's seat, but she refused.
The conductor called police and Rosa Parks is then stopped by police and ordered to pay a fine of $ 15

pays his place =je voulais dire qu'elle est montée dans le bus et elle a payé sa place
She sat in a seat for black = je veux dire qu'elle était assise dans la section où il y avait les noirs
Un homme noir devait se lever dès qu'un blanc voulait s'asseoir; comment

Mais, ce n'est pas correct. She sat in an area reserved for white people. When a white man asked her to move to the back of the bus, she refused.
A black man had to get up as soon as a white needed
A black man had to get up if a white man wanted his seat.
To make it gender neutral: A black person had to get up if a white person wanted their seat.

Thank you, notrepere, for the last remark about GENDER NEUTRAL.
It is something precious we cannot use in French. The best we can do is to use the word "personne" instead of man or woman.
There are also other ways of avoiding sexist language in French, but it is not the time/place here to speak about it.
