Good
I have a homework to do and it's about
My homework shoud be written as if it was for a newspaper.
Could you help me to find my errors of English grammar please?
Thank you very much !
The world of the bank is a fascinating world. Indeed, this sector includes a lot of domains such as the finance, the insurance, the wealth management etc...
But is it the daily life of a bank employee?
We are going to follow Alexandre, a young student of IESEG who did a work experience in a bank. So we will discover how the job of intern at a bank is.
Our dear Alexandre as every other student in his school did a labour internship. Contrary to other people, he prefered to choose to work in a bank company: LCL, at Neuilly sur Seine near of Paris. More precisely, he worked in customer relationship in an agency at the reception; he reported to his agency manager who is responsible of him : his «interlocutor» as Alexandre said. Fortunately for him his integration in the bank was quick because they’re only seven of them what make conversations easier though his colleagues are in their mid-30s.
«The customer is always right”
His responsibilities consist in welcoming the customers, doing many bank operations to satisfy the customer. «The customer is always right» he said. In spite of the fact that he worked alone at the reception, he always kept contact with other colleagues to be operational because for him his objective is to do his best to help permanent employees by satisfying customers; and it’s what he accomplished.
So what’s a typical working day for Alexandre?
First of all he usually arrived at 9 o’clock; he received letters, then he welcomed customers. After that, he had his lunch at 13 o’clock. At the end of the day, he closed the agency and made the account of the turnover.
«some customers who are sometimes arrogant»
Thanks to this job, he learned to keep being polite with some aggressive people because unfortunately. «The negative aspects about this work are some customers who are sometimes arrogant» he said. «You have to be concentrated, polite and tough to do this job» said Alexandre who wants to give a piece of advice to other students. For people who want to do this work abroad, he advices them to put a good pen (which works) a smart suit, and a dictionary of course!
Through this job, he discovers the positive aspects of the French work which are to know how to work with a team, to receive customers. Moreover he discovers also the negative aspects of it, which are the hard and long work, disrespectable customers and some pressure of the hierarchy. You have to learn to welcome customers even if they are bad because: «the customer is always right» reminded Alexandre.
Finally what this experience brought to you?
«This work experience makes me understand that I really don’t want to work in the bank sector» he said; a short but a meaningful answer.
Finally Alexandre told us that even in France he spoke English thanks to foreign customer who had their account in his agency. Though, our Alexandre has still some difficulties with financial vocabulary in English.
