Hello!
Is it correct to say "All children like playing but not reading" for Tous les enfants aiment jouer mais pas lire?
Thanks in advance!

Hello
Yes, I agree with b_b. You could also use the infinitive forms ... to play ... to read ... for the same meaning.

Hello,
The English often use "every" where we say "tous...."
je connais tout le monde: I know everybody.
You could have said:
Every child prefers playing to reading.
even stronger:
Any child prefers playing to reading. (n'importe quel enfant, tout enfant...)
Any child will prefer to play rather than read.
Any child would rather play than read.
Generally speaking:
Children on the whole like playing but not reading.
Children at large prefer playing to reading.
"All children" sounds strange to my ears, I usually hear,:
"all good children" go to heaven,
"all the children I met hate reading" when it is more definite, and I feel the "the" is missing but it could be just a wrong impression on my part.

Merci mais la réponse a déjà été donnée et il est inutile de faire remonter un sujet dans ce cas.
