Bonjour,
Je dois réaliser des exercices à distance en anglais dont on nous a transmis la correction.
Cependant je ne comprends pas certains points (même après avoir recherché sur anglais-facile ou linguee), et sollicite donc votre aide:
1. "James changed : jobs (his jobs) last year."
Pourquoi est-ce que la seconde solution est fausse ?
2. Comment traduire cubicles/cubes en français ? Poste de travail ? Cabine ? (Dans les bureaux)
3. Quel est le sens de follow-up dans : "Make sure you follow-up with Nancy about what we all discussed this morning."
4. He's got a really positive attitude: contraction de "He is got" ou "He has got" ?
5. Quel est le sens de on my plate dans : "I can't take any more projects, I have too mych on my plate already."
6. Quel est le sens de honed in dans : "He honed in on a good strategy".
Merci d'avance pour vos réponses.

Hello.
1. "James changed : jobs last year." For 'his jobs' to work, James would have to change both of his jobs at once, so he would need at least 2 jobs.
2. Comment traduire cubicles/cubes en français ? I think Cabine. In an office, they usually have walls, but no ceiling, and are probably not permanent.
3. Quel est le sens de follow-up dans : "Make sure you follow-up with Nancy about what we all discussed this morning." Speak with or email Nancy regarding the current discussion.
4. He's got a really positive attitude: contraction de "He is got" ou "He has got" ? Is can be the auxiliary verb when the main verb ends with -ing, but not with past tense.
5. Quel est le sens de on my plate dans : "I can't take any more projects, I have too much on my plate already." I have too much to do or too many responsibilities.
6. Quel est le sens de honed in dans : "He honed in on a good strategy". Hone in has the sense of moving towards a desired destination or hitting the target.
I hope this helps.
Sherry
