The film is being shown in Paris just now.

- Mountains surrounded the battlefield.
The battlefield was surrounded by the mountains.

- They made him repair what he had broken.
He was made repaired what he had broken.

- They couldn’t cope with the situation.
The situation couldn't be coped with.

The battlefield was surrounded by the mountains. Il n'y a pas de "the" dans la phrase active.

- They made him repair what he had broken.
He was made repaired what he had broken. Cette phrase peut être mise au passif, mais "repaired" est faux.

- They couldn’t cope with the situation.
The situation couldn't be coped with.

I don't know why...I'm not very logical sometimes

The battlefield was surrounded by mountains.

Je ne savais pas qu'il fallait utiliser cette forme.
