To give up doing something means to stop doing it,often voluntarily, whereas to give in means to stop resisting, to yield, because you are not strong enough.

Here are some more useful synonyms:
To give up (transitive verb) something means to stop doing it, you aren't wanting it anymore: stop-cease-abandon
To give up smoking, to give up the party, to give up texting your friends every once in a while.
To give in (intransitive verb) is also to stop doing things but under some pressure: surrender
Don't give in !
After hours of fighting, one boxer gave in and the other won the gold medal right away.
