Here is my work:
1- To regard as the same in some way. (q t) 4 equate = concurrencer.
2- A story (especially in the Bible) which is intended to teach a lesson. (b p l r) parable = parabole.
3- A very heavy fall of rain. (p w r d n) 3 downpour = trombes d'eau.
4- Good and deserving. (h w t r) 2 worthy = bon et méritant, louable, digne, noble, qui vaut la peine.
5- A word or sound used to express disgust, tiredness, relief etc. (h p w) 1 phew = ouf !
6- A harbour; a place of safety or rest. (n h v) 2 haven = abri, refuge, havre.
7- Very salty water. (n r b) 2 brine = saumure.
8- A kind of tall, stiff grass growing on wet or marshy ground. (d r) 2 reed = roseau.
